Our Story
My journey with Picasso, my beloved Pomeranian, has been one of the most profound, fulfilling, and creative adventures of my life. Picasso entered my world as a little ball of fluff, but he quickly took on a much larger role, becoming like a child to me. From the beginning, he brought joy, companionship, and a kind of unconditional love that was both grounding and inspiring. As we navigated life together, I felt the desire to share his spirit with others—and so my creative ventures were born and so was my company Pineiro Couture.
The first step in sharing Picasso’s story was through a children’s book (Pomarvelous Picasso). Writing this book felt like a natural extension of my relationship with him. I wanted to capture his personality—how he prances with confidence, how his eyes sparkle with mischief, and how his small size belies his giant personality. In creating a character that was equal parts cute and courageous, I hoped to bring joy to young readers while conveying simple lessons about kindness, resilience, and friendship. Every part of the process, from crafting the storyline to illustrating his unique look, felt like an homage to my best friend.
In parallel to the book, I launched a blog to chronicle our everyday adventures. From the big milestones, like his birthday parties and new tricks, to the smaller, quieter moments of our lives, the blog became a way to share our bond with an online community. I never expected the blog to gain as much traction as it did, but I found that so many other pet parents resonated with our journey. Through our blog, Picasso became a kind of ambassador for joy, inspiring laughter and heartwarming responses from people around the world
As Picasso’s influence grew, I began to wonder how else I could incorporate him into new creative ventures. That’s when the idea of starting Dawgy Couture, a sister company of Pineiro Couture, and designing a pet carrier hit me. Traveling with Picasso over the years has been a learning experience, revealing the ways traditional pet carriers often fall short. I wanted something more practical, stylish, and comfortable for both of us. So, I set my sights on creating a unique pet carrier that could meet the needs of pet parents like myself. Picasso, as always, was my inspiration and model, helping me ensure that the design was both functional and comfortable. Embarking on this project has required learning about everything from materials to ergonomics, but it has been incredibly fulfilling.
This journey into the world of pet products has been a surprising adventure, and I’ve already started dreaming about the next steps—perhaps even expanding into pet clothing. Picasso has always had a keen sense of style (or maybe it’s just me projecting!), and hopefully in the near future I would love to also expand and create a line of outfits that are both comfortable and playful, designed for pets to look and feel their best. But for now, these luxurious, yet functional carriers, are my top priority.
Through all these endeavors, Picasso has been more than a muse; he’s been my partner and co-creator. Our bond, rooted in love, companionship, and creativity, has enriched my life in countless ways. Every project we embark on together is a testament to that bond, and I look forward to seeing where our next adventure takes us.
